Frequently Asked Questions

I really want solar but how do I afford it?
When you invest in solar, you eliminate that ever-increasing electric bill you are already paying.  By taking advantage of the rebates and tax credits available, you pay for your solar with the money you were spending with your utility company. The difference is, a stable monthly payment with no worries about future exorbitant rate increases. Quit paying the utility company, and become the owner of your own clean electric generating plant.
What about financing?
We have several financing options available through SunPower including the best lease in the industry. We also have a 12-month Same as Cash program, with no payments and no interest for 12 months (OAC).
Why can’t you give price quotes over the phone?
Solar installations involve many factors, such as what type of roof your home has, which direction your roof faces, your electric usage, and rebates for your area. We offer a free energy evaluation of your home, to show you how to reduce your consumption allowing us to install a smaller less costly solar system.
How long will the installation take?
A typical residential roof mount installation takes one week or less.
How long will my solar panel system last?
SunPower guarantees that their solar panels will maintain at least 80% of their original output for 25 years. They will likely last several decades.
How much will my property taxes increase?
In California, the value of your property may not be re-appraised by the County Assessor’s Office for solar-related property improvements, at this time.
What about all the paperwork?
We handle it all—your power company applications, permits, interconnection agreements, and rebate applications. Leave it to us!
Will solar increase the value of my home?
According to the Appraiser’s Journal, your home value will increase $20 for every $1 in your energy savings per year. This typically exceeds your net system cost (after rebates and tax incentives).
What about my Homeowner’s Association?
California law prohibits HOAs from prohibiting solar. HOAs love the low profile, aesthetically pleasing installation provided by Green Convergence using the all black SunPower panels. And we will provide your HOA with whatever they require for speedy approval.
