Ford and Nissan Partners with Sunpower

Ford and Nissan Partner with SunPower

SunPower and Ford Partner to Bring You Emission-Free Driving Fun
fordSunPower and Ford Motor Company have teamed up to offer Focus Electric and C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid owners a solar panel system that will provide electric vehicle owners enough renewable energy production to offset the energy used for driving.  This unique partnership offers owners the ability to charge their Ford Focus Electric vehicle, as well as future Ford electric vehicles using clean solar energy!
The 2012 Ford Focus Electric runs exclusively on electricity stored in powerful, state-of-the-art batteries. Thanks to SunPower’s new partnership with Ford, you’ll be able to drive completely emission-free and save on electricity costs with every charge. When you charge your Focus Electric with SunPower's most powerful solar panels on the planet you can maximize the miles, savings and environmental impact you get out of every charge.  Zero emissions and lower monthly costs, what a great combination!

nissanNissan LEAF Charges Up With SunPower
Nissan North America, Inc., and  SunPower Corp have partnered to help Nissan LEAF electric vehicle owners learn how a residential solar power system from SunPower can reduce their carbon emissions. Through this partnership, LEAF electric car owners will learn how to control the cost of charging their electric vehicles.

Brendan Jones, director, Nissan LEAF marketing and sales strategy states,  "SunPower is the leading manufacturer and installer of residential solar power systems in the United States, and offers the most efficient solar power technology on the market today. For example, a 2.5-kilowatt SunPower rooftop solar system may offset the power required to drive a LEAF about 10,000 miles a year. We are pleased to work with SunPower on this initiative, and look forward to a long partnership."
Nissan and SunPower are offering online information and video tutorials to show how solar power systems convert sunlight into clean, renewable power for use in the home as well as for charging electric vehicles. Visitors to the website can request a free home solar assessment from a local SunPower dealer.

Open Wide to Open House

In Dr. Tanner’s dentist chair, you’ll rinse, spit, and save the planet.

Dr. David Tanner, D.D.S., recently installed solar panels on his Lyons Avenue office building, making him Santa Clarita’s solar-powered dentist.

I’m just doing my part, says Dr. Tanner. I’m still working on making a total conversion to conservation.

But for Tanner, going solar wasn’t just about saving the planet. It also saved dollars and cents.

I was apprehensive in regard to the upfront cost of the new system. After consulting with my CPA, the tax incentives, rebates, and the money I would save long-term made the decision easy and practical.

We're thrilled to announce that Green Convergence has been chosen to receive the Valencia Environmental Hall of Fame Award. On a national level, this award has been given to Harrison Ford, Pierce Brosnan, Art Linkletter, Ed Begley, Jr., and Mario Van Peebles. The first to be inducted on a community level, Green Convergence was chosen because of our dedication to being stewards of Planet Earth through our work in the area of photovoltaic solar panels.

Building a Green Church - Q&A with Green Convergence

Santa Clarita, CA, October, 2010—When Real Life Church moved into its new building last spring, the congregation had Green Convergence to thank. Green Convergence, a solar contractor headquartered in Santa Clarita, wired the church for solar power. Green Convergence co-owners Mark Figearo and DJ Schramm also served on the church’s construction team.

The Real Life Church building is LEED certified with a gold rating. The building’s unique underground design adds to its energy efficiency. With over 60 years combined experience in roofing, electrical and general construction, Green Convergence has provided over thirty customers—residential and commercial—with solar power. Figearo and Schramm’s expertise and experience were critical to Real Life’s construction. Recently they discussed the church project.
